The company
CAO, the regional auction office for electricity cross-border transmission capacities implemented standard NTC based allocation process starting with yearly capacities for 2011. Our team is also supporting primarily (but not only) CEE TSOs in the development and implementation of modern methods and processes for the coordination of cross-border capacities and in future phases of the project on integration at regional and interregional level towards the single European target model for the electricity market.
CAO is internationally recognized as a developer of sophisticated methodologies and processes for coordinated capacity calculations. Besides the development and implementation of flow-based capacity calculation method in CEE region, we are actively involved in other initiatives dealing with similar topics.
Main tasks
- Organising and conducting both: the capacity calculation and the allocation process (working in shifts as a member of a team of experts)
- Taking part in analytical work in the area of power system analysis (transmission capacity calculation, load flow, grid security analysis etc.)
- Support in development of methodology and processes for coordinated transmission capacity calculation and allocation
- Communication with TSOs and electricity market participants
- Participation in international working groups of experts
- Supporting the IT development and testing
- Reporting
Candidate profile
- Min. BSc in Electrical Engineering (preferably in electrical power system engineering)
- Understanding of electric power systems fundamentals and operations
- Basic knowledge of electricity market principles including economic aspects
- Analytical skills, problem solving oriented
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to learn "on the job", in addition to formal training
- Team player, customer oriented
- Ability to work under time pressure
- Very good knowledge of MS Office
Skills
- Experience in analysis of electrical power system and/or electricity markets is an advantage.
- Experience in the energy business and/or involvement in IT-development is an asset
Language
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge of any other European language (in particular German, Italian, French or some of the Eastern-European languages) is an asset
